Ductus continues its growth journey through a strategic partnership with Tromb

27 / 08 / 2024

The IT consulting firm Ductus, with Broviken as its majority owner, is expanding its customer offering and geographic reach through a strategic partnership with Tromb, specialists in digital business development. With Tromb as a subsidiary of the Ductus Group, the company is strengthening its position as a leading player in digital business development and IT in Norrbotten and Västerbotten. Both companies will continue to operate under their respective brands with their current management teams.

With Tromb now part of the Ductus Group, the combined workforce totals approximately 360 employees, and the group gains increased capacity, primarily in northern Sweden. “We are now better positioned to meet the sharply increased demand for digitalization required by the green transition in the north,” says Rickard Åström, Group CEO and President of Ductus.

System development is a key part of both companies’ operations. Ductus complements this with its expertise in areas such as network automation and IT security, while Tromb contributes its strengths in digital business development and design-driven innovation. The two companies can now offer their customers a broader range of services.

“It’s going to be great to work and grow together with Ductus because we complement each other so wonderfully,”, says Karin Sjöö Åkeblom, CEO of Tromb. “Becoming part of an even stronger tech group creates exciting synergies for both customers and employees. For me, it’s important to have an owner that allows us to have fun at work and continue to grow in a values-driven way—as a company, as employees, and in our customers’ businesses—something I know Ductus also cares deeply about.”

“I’m impressed by Tromb’s ability to streamline customers’ operations through its innovation sprints, digital transformation plans, and creative workshops. It’s a fantastic addition to Ductus’s portfolio of offerings,”, Rickard continues.

Tromb has established a presence in locations where Ductus has no or only a limited presence, such as Piteå, Stockholm, and Gothenburg. At the same time, Ductus operates in cities where Tromb is not present, such as Uppsala, Malmö, and Kiruna. By joining forces, the companies can now reach more local markets in Sweden.

“Ductus and Tromb are a perfect match. We have similar businesses and core values, and I look forward to developing our collaboration in areas where each company sees increased customer value, in both existing and new markets.”, says Rickard.

Tromb was previously part of the Spin Growth Group, and through this merger, it gains a new, stable, and long-term partner in Ductus.

“We’ve built a fantastic company over the past 10 years and have now been looking for opportunities for Tromb to take the next step and continue to grow. Together with Ductus, Tromb will be a very strong partner for all our customers, from north to south. It feels incredibly good that Tromb will be able to continue its journey and that, at the same time, we’ll become partners in the new group,” concludes Anders Elfving Hallberg, CEO of Spin Growth.”

The merger took effect on August 22.
