Broviken becomes new majority owner of Ortopediskt Centrum
Broviken continues to invest in specialist healthcare through the acquisition of Ortopediskt Centrum i Stockholm AB ("OC" or "the Company"). OC is a specialised provider of orthopaedics and spine surgery for private-paying patients and those with private health insurance. Since 2023, Broviken is also the majority owner of SportsMed, which operates a similar business in Gothenburg. Together with the company's existing owners and employees, Broviken will continue to develop the business.
Following SportsMed, Ortopediskt Centrum becomes Broviken's second partnership within orthopaedic surgery for patients with private health insurance. Ortopediskt Centrum operates at Sophiahemmet Hospital in Stockholm and performs approximately 900 surgeries per year, resulting in high satisfaction among both patients and employees. The company collaborates with several of the major insurance companies.
Ortopediskt Centrum's current owners will continue to work within the business to the same extent as before. The ambition is for Broviken and the founders to jointly continue developing the business. Patients, employees, and suppliers are therefore not affected by this change of ownership.
